In addition to semi-private rooms, the 40 women who reside at BWH also have access to meal programs, volunteer opportunities and case management services. Our goal is to help women stabilize, envision the future and move out of homelessness permanently.   Position Description Women’s Advocates are responsible for creating a safe, welcoming environment, offering assistance and support to the women who reside at BWH, and fostering a team environment among shelter staff and volunteers. As a low-barrier, harm reduction program, staff engage women where they are, using a strengths-based approach and trauma-informed care. The Wintonia is a 92-single-room-occupancy building in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood serving men and women coming out of King County’s Dutch Shisler Sobering Support Center.   Position Description The Maintenance Tech III is responsible for the properties exterior and interior facility upkeep including managing a preventative maintenance schedule specifically designed for each unique property and its own equipment.  This position is moving into a leadership role and is able to direct self and others to achieve positive property facilities functions. These include reconciliation of accounts on the accounting books and review and analysis of financial information sent to the accounting department by programs, vendors, and contractors. Very good communication skills with both accounting and non-accounting personnel are essential. The position must perform their job while working under strict time deadlines.
